Blog Status Update

Hi everyone,
Considering the fact this blog hasn't been updated in a while, some of you might be wondering what's going on. Well, Josiah and I are doing some "reorganization" right now. Over the past few weeks, Josiah has started seriously studying 3D modeling, graphic design, and film production in addition to working full time, and consequentially cannot give much time to this blog anymore. We're not ready to shut this blog down yet, so after talking about it, we decided that I would take over all blogging for the present.

I'm also quite busy with my work right now, but I'll give this blog what time I can and we'll see how things go. Thank you everyone for your interest and comments over the past months, we hope you've had as much fun reading as we've had posting. :-)

And now, just so you don't go away with at least one picture...

The Snake

Guess what? This snake was found in our basement a few days ago. My sister Abigail found it one day when she happened to pick up the bag this snake was hiding in! To say the very least, my sister was quite startled, but thankfully had the presence of mind to throw this guy into a 5 gallon bucket before she beat a hasty retreat. Otherwise we might have been involved in a very long and tedious snake hunt in our basement.

Life is never boring around here, that's for sure!

Take care,
Ben

Having a snake found in your basement is quite the start to a morning! And it makes you wonder, "How long was it there and we didn't know it?!?"

I am likewise very glad that Abigail put the snake in a bucket and it didn't get lost in the basement!

Ooohhh...fuunn.
Do you know what kind of snake it is? From the angle of the pic, it almost looks like it has a triangularly-shaped head (poisonous?).

I hate to say it Tai, but I believe this was simply a boring Garter Snake. No it is nothing nearly as exciting as a copperhead or cottonmouth. Though, if this had been found at our last house that would have been much more likely since we had copperheads on that property.

Go Abigail!! You did a great job keeping your head! I for one would have turned and run the other way~ notifying the rest of the household at the top of my voice! ;)

The picture makes it look rather large... how big was the "monster" exactly?

Thanks, Rebekah! :-) However, I must admit that I managed to keep my head long enough to drop it in the bucket. After that I turned and fled while calling for the boys!

I can't quite remember how long they said it was, but 2 feet seems like the right length.
