Hi everyone,
Considering the fact this blog hasn't been updated in a while, some of you might be wondering what's going on. Well, Josiah and I are doing some "reorganization" right now. Over the past few weeks, Josiah has started seriously studying 3D modeling, graphic design, and film production in addition to working full time, and consequentially cannot give much time to this blog anymore. We're not ready to shut this blog down yet, so after talking about it, we decided that I would take over all blogging for the present.
I'm also quite busy with my work right now, but I'll give this blog what time I can and we'll see how things go. Thank you everyone for your interest and comments over the past months, we hope you've had as much fun reading as we've had posting. :-)
And now, just so you don't go away with at least one picture...
The Snake
Guess what? This snake was found in our basement a few days ago. My sister Abigail found it one day when she happened to pick up the bag this snake was hiding in! To say the very least, my sister was quite startled, but thankfully had the presence of mind to throw this guy into a 5 gallon bucket before she beat a hasty retreat. Otherwise we might have been involved in a very long and tedious snake hunt in our basement.
Life is never boring around here, that's for sure!
Take care,
Ben
In anticipation of having a family some day, maybe I should trade in my little Honda Civic and get a more, well, family friendly vehicle? What do you think?
Ah, what a calm scene...
... uh oh, what happened to the calmness?
Locked in combat.
Charge!
After fighting on the bridge for a while, the battle moved to the sand pits.
Sword fighting is simple: You try to hit the other person before they hit you.
Even Ben got into the "swing" of things.*
Pep talk.
Putting the pep talk into practice!
Look carefully at this picture. In a split second, the battle is going to be over for someone.
Recovering
Let the volleyball games begin.
Scott flies through the air for the team...
... and Jon hits the dirt for the team.
Service!
Correctly serving the ball is easy in comparison to figuring out the player rotation patterns. ;-)
That tangle looks messy, but at least they returned the ball successfully :-)
It's power serve time.
In addition to being a excellent preacher, my dad is also a good volleyball player.
Time stands still as the ball agonizingly falls to the ground, making one team happy and the other team not so happy.
Looks like this game is going to go into overtime.
Tom, the volleyball player.
I'm not sure why Derrick is bouncing the ball like that, and I probably wouldn't even understand if he told me, but it must have something to do with his power serves.
Focus
Agility
Abigail expertly returns the ball during the Girls vs. Boys Game!
Organizing into teams.
And the great 2008 church picnic kickball game gets underway!
Intense focus.
The view from the stands.
Fastball
Yes, it was great game!
That's all for this week! We hope you enjoyed the pictures.
