Tourist

Continuing on down the street, we decided to check out the famous Buckhorn Saloon and Museum.

So here I was striking my most epic pose for the camera, and then right when I was starting to think I have this posing stuff figured out, I realized there were some, uh... horns growing out of my head??

*Sigh* Why do I even try?

Unfortunately, poor Scott wasn't fairing much better.

I have a bad feeling about this....

Finally, we retreated to the streets to take some wanna-be band pictures. Be sure to check out our latest CD... if you can find it for sale anywhere.

got water?

The pinnacle of fashionable eyewear.

Late Thursday afternoon, there was a social get-together of christianfilmmakers.org members. Now I'm not a member myself, but I know people who are so I went anyway.

Here comes supper!

The Film Festival

The Pendragon table.

Want some free popcorn, anyone?

Here Nathan and I apply our minds to one of the most complex tasks of the week - figuring which movie to see and when to see it.

In fact, we became so engrossed in our task, that we somehow (and don't ask me how), knocked over one of the festival signs. How embarrassing.

While Nathan kept a sharp lookout for paparazzi and TV crews, I quickly set the sign back up. Too bad he didn't see the guy who took this picture. :-)
People milling about.

Doug Philips and Charlie Zahm present:
Reformers and Revolutionaries: One Thousand Years of Christian Heroism in Song

George Sarris narrating the story of the battle of Jericho.

The Von Trapp Children

The star of Fireproof, Kirk Carmeron.
Voddie Baucham gave a fascinating lecture entitled: What We Should and Should Not Learn from Hollywood about True Manhood.

Dean Jones

It is at this point in the post where Ben left for Tennessee so he commissioned me, Josiah, to finish this post. I have not done any blogging for too many months so we shall see how it goes.

For some reason this seems to be Ben's favorite photo composition.

The food court presents so many options: "Shall we have Chinese or Japanese Teriyaki Chicken?"

Even after one has made the decision you are still plagued with that nagging question:
"Would the Japanese chicken have been better?"

Nothing like a good photo shoot to banish such bothersome questions.

Doesn't 2.8F give the coolest DOF?

The Widow's Might

John Moore sings the stunning titles song.

Three standing ovations? I think there is a reason why this film won the Audience Choice Award by more then 2 to 1.

The people responsible for this production.

What's this? Another interview?

John and Cameron try to answer some of the countless questions about The Widow's Might production.

Closing Night

The moment everyone is waiting for has arrived! It is the 2009 SAICFF Awards ceremony.

The evening kicks off with a performance by Charlie Zahm.

"And the Best Documentary Award goes to... The Terri Schiavo Story directed by Ken Carpenter!"

There were of course many awards but we hardly had space for them all.

As the entire audience gives a standing ovation the cast and crew mount the stage to receive the Best of the Festival Award & the Audience Choice Award.

John Moore gives all the glory to God.

"From the Phillip's Family and all of Vision Forum, God Bless and Good Night!"

"Uh, Josiah? I think it is time to go."

Fowl's Home

Sunday, after church, we went to the home of the wonderful Fowl family.

I know what you are thinking, this doesn't look like Texas, but this is most assuredly Texas.

A rousing game of Speed Volleyball.

Michael dives for the ball.

Spectators

"Oh yeah! Bring it on!"
As the shades of night spread across the land, the Fowl home is filled with light, laughter, and good cheer.

All except for these guys, just ignore them ;-)

What did I tell you about Ben's favorite photo composition?
